Healthcare company Thumbay Group has announced that it will launch the UAE’s first meetaverse hospital. According to the company, the new platform will use a combination of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies to provider users with immersive hospital experiences, including remote consultations with certified doctors.

In addition, users will be able to access to informational resources, make payments, submit health-related comments, and chat with nurses, all while remaining totally virtual.

“We are already working on it and expect it to launch before October this year. This will be a complete virtual hospital where people will come with an avatar and consult with the doctor. To cater to medical tourism, we will allow patients to see what the hospital looks like in the metaverse if they travel and come to Thumbay healthcare facility,” said Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder and president of Thumbay Group.
