Brain Injury Awareness Month

Brain Injury Awareness Month

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month in America. This awareness raising campaign has been recognised for over 30 years. It is supported and promoted by most of the major health organizations in the country with lots of campaigns and social media activity encouraging interest and education.

The aim of the month long campaign is to educate people about the effects that living with brain injury can have on the injured and their families and to raise funds to assist with support for those people affected. Perhaps more importantly the #ChangeYourMind campaign (the theme for 2018-2020) conducted by the Brain Injury Association of America lends itself to outreach within the brain injury community to de-stigmatize the injury, empower those who have survived, and promote the many types of support that are available.

The campaign also aims to educate more people about the causes of injury and mitigating risks in a measured way.

More than 5.3 million Americans are living with brain injury-related disabilities at a cost of more than $76 billion annually. Help spread the word. Join the #ChangeYourMind campaign during Brain Injury Awareness Month
