Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day
Cheating on your partner can be as painful as it seems at first. Infidelity can destroy relationships and make it difficult for the cheater to trust anyone again.
Cheating can cause parents to distance themselves from their children, making them feel betrayed, abandoned, and unworthy of love and attention. Cheating can become a problem if it becomes an addiction. The cheater may continue to ruin relationships and not find true happiness.
Yet, millions of people cheat on their partners every year, despite the terrible consequences. To help people understand the devastating effects of infidelity on all involved, Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day was established.
Christina Ferguson, a Hampton University graduate, created the History of Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day. She is a member of American Psychological Association and Learning Disabilities Association of America.
After experiencing a series of traumatic events in her own relationships, Christina created Infidelity Hurts Awareness day. She wanted to help others who are going through similar experiences. Christina describes it in her own words
“Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day’s vision is to raise awareness about this topic and shed light on such a devastating behavior. It is troubling to hear the effects of infidelity on relationships and more disappointing to see how common this behavior is. Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day aims to raise awareness about infidelity. This movement encourages us to get to the root of the problem.
The mission of the organization is to end the acceptance and promotion of infidelity as a normal and noteworthy behavior. It also brings awareness to the psychological and emotional consequences that individuals, families and communities experience. It also offers encouragement and support for those who may suffer silently as they rebuild their lives.
