Insect Repellent Awareness Day
Many of us have been bitten at some point in our lives by a mosquito or another similar insect. Although bites are usually a nuisance, they can be very serious. Insect Repellent Awareness Day promotes the use of insect repellents to prevent bites and spread of diseases such as Malaria. You can use insect repellents in many forms including creams, sprays, tablets and creams. They can reduce the number of bites by up to 50%.
Insect Repellent Awareness Day, which was established by scientists from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2014, aims to educate people about the importance of repellents when traveling abroad and in the country. Schools could link the celebration with projects on bugs or provide first aid knowledge about how to treat bites and how to use repellents.
