International Day of the Seafarer

International Day of the Seafarer

It’s time for us to celebrate International Day of the Seafarer and raise awareness.

The International Day of the Seafarer was founded by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a specialized United Nations agency. It was established in 2011 as the International Day of the Seafarer.

This day was created to encourage people to support and promote sailors and seafarers as essential to global trade and transport. It’s meant to remind people that many of their daily items and products are a result of the efforts of sailors and seafarers.

Its roots are from 2010 when the Conference of Parties adopted a resolution to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.

The United Nations included the International Day of the Seafarer in its list of Annual Observances. This day is dedicated to the discussion of issues such as safety, health, and rights of seafarers and sailors.

Every year, the International Day of the Seafarer’s theme changes. Past themes include “Seafarers: at the heart of shipping‚Äôs future”, “Faces of the Sea”, and “A fair future to Seafarers”.

These are some of the ways you can celebrate and observe the International Day of the Seafarer

This is the perfect time to show appreciation and say “thank you!” to a serviceman or a seaman in the navy, or someone who works in the shipping industry on the docks.

Do you not know anyone? You can easily post a meme or message on social media to recognize International Day of the Seafarer and raise awareness.

International Day of the Seafarer is an opportunity to learn more about the lives and struggles of seafarers and sailors. Visit the International Maritime Organization’s website, which is supported by the United Nations.

You can find information about International Maritime Organization publications and meetings, news magazines. Resources, awareness bulletins, and the IMO Knowledge Center. The topics include safety and health of seafarers, facts and figures about seafarers, legal issues and technical cooperation.

A fun way to celebrate is to organize an event encouraging others to honor and observe sailors and seafarers. You could have a small gathering of friends, family, or coworkers. It could be a small gathering of friends, family, or coworkers. Or, it could turn into something larger, such as a community event at the library, school, or other venue where everyone is welcome.

Host a speaker to add an educational aspect to the event. It would also be great to provide entertainment and fun for seafarers and their families and anyone else who wants to support them. You can make International Day of the Seafarer memorable by doing whatever you want!
