International Project Management Day
This is a large project, one that can take months, if not years, to complete and requires the management of dozens, if not hundreds, of people. This project will require immense resources. Coordinating all of the moving parts will be a difficult task.
If the entire thing is not properly managed, it will either fall apart or cost more time and money. When faced with such a situation, who do we turn to? Project Managers. International Project Management Day recognizes Project Managers and encourages those who rely on them to do so.
In 2004, International Project Management Day was established. It was spearheaded by Laverne and Lori Johnson, along with the men and woman of the IIL team. They understood the importance of project managers and the effort they put into ensuring that projects are completed on time and efficiently.
Project managers ensure that everything runs smoothly and they work in all sectors, from government to voluntary. International Project Management Day is dedicated to recognizing those who have helped us achieve our highest goals with their smooth competence.
A show of appreciation from the entire organization is the best way to celebrate Project Managers. You can organize special events and meetings to show appreciation to the staff and company. This will allow people who are not familiar with project management to get a glimpse of what it is all about and to help them understand how complicated even the smallest projects can be.
Even if it isn’t practical or possible, it would show respect to give them cards, gift baskets, or even a full day off. But make sure that it fits within their project plan. Everything must be paid for. On International Project Management Day, take a moment and show your appreciation to the people responsible for managing your projects.
