
International Workers’ Day
Everyone loves to spend time doing what they love! It doesn’t really matter what your hobby is, whether it’s shopping, diving or going to the movies, hiking, or any other leisure activity. It is likely that many people spend a lot of their lives trying to figure out how to do this more often. However, most people don’t have enough money to be able to do what they really love. There are some people who love their jobs. There are some people who love their jobs more than others. Isn’t this something to be celebrated? It is something that many people around the globe believe it is. Trade unionists began to focus on protecting employees’ rights after the rise of individual workers and cottage industries. Labor unions worked to protect workers’ rights, whether it was child labor laws or restricted working hours or safe working conditions. The first Labor Day holiday in September was established by the United States and Canada in 1880s. In the 1880s, a September holiday called Labor Day was first proposed in North America. May 1st, also known by May Day, was selected for International Workers Day to remember the Haymarket incident of May 4, 1886. The incident occurred in Chicago, Illinois in the USA during a workers strike. An unidentified individual threw a bomb towards the police, who were trying to control the crowd. This incident took place in Chicago, Illinois, during a workers’ strike. An unidentified person threw a bomb at the police who were trying to control the crowd.
