Lumberjack Day

Lumberjack Day

Monty Python sang the Lumberjack Song, and it would be fitting to perform this rendition for Lumberjack Day. This celebration has a long history dating back to the mid 2000s, when Marianne Ways & Colleen A. F Venable decided that it was time for this honored profession to be celebrated. Venable was a lumberjack, but she admits that the original idea of the day was to allow friends to share pancakes and waffles.

Lumberjack Day is now widely celebrated. Anybody can host a party with friends or family. The idea is to wear plaid shirts and boots and have beards. You can find other ideas on how to enjoy the day at the official website. Here you will also find jokes, recipes, and lumberjack jargon.
