National Psychotherapy Day
When you tell someone you’re celebrating National Psychotherapy Day, they’ll likely make a joke about it or say something like “you need your head examined” or that they don’t think people who can afford psychotherapy need one.
A group of students and professionals founded National Psychotherapy Day in 2012. It was created to dispel misconceptions and increase awareness about the important work of therapists in helping those suffering from mental illness and emotional disorders.
To show support for National Psychotherapy Day, the colour turquoise can be worn with their logo featuring a turquoise counselling chair against a black background. This is a great time to write, read, blog, or talk about psychotherapy to help break down stigmas and worries.
