We are campaigning to stop the use of disposable cups.

The first step is International No Disposable Cup day on 4 October when we are asking everyone in the UK and the rest of the World to not take a disposable cup for that one day.

We use globally 16 billion disposable coffee cups each year. These are mainly coated with plastic to laminate the inside and use plastic lids. In the UK alone we use 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups each year or 7 million per day (half a million are dropped on the floor and less than 1% are recycled).

On 4 October we are asking everyone not to use a disposable cup. Everyone is encouraged to get their own reusable cup or sit in their coffee shop and use the china mugs provided there.
