Parents’ Day in the USA
The fourth Sunday in July is Parents’ Day in the USA.
This holiday is a combination of Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. And what a celebration this should be! The holiday was established in 1994 by President Bill Clinton as the day that recognizes, uplifts and supports the role of parents in the rearing of children. ay.
This observance is more consistent, because it minimizes traditional sex-based differences in parental roles. But as far as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are very popular in the USA, its unlikely Parents’ Day will replace them any time soon.
So if you are parents then give yourself a break today and treat yourself. Or if you have or know some hardworking, lovely parents – remind them how special they are today!
