Raspberry ‘Cavernoma Awareness’ Day
In July, 2019 The Cavernoma Society was chosen by The European Federation of Neurological Alliances (EFNA) as one of its #BrainLifeGoals project winners! The project aims to raise awareness of rare neurological disorders.
Therefore, September 20 will now be known as Raspberry Day! On this date every year, The Cavernoma Society will hold an awareness day, with events, publicity, and get togethers for members. Cavernomas looks like raspberries, so it seemed apt to use this delicious soft fruit as a memorable way to raise awareness.
1 in 600 people have a cavernoma – often not even knowing they have it. By raising awareness of this condition we hope to improve the time taken to diagnose cavernoma and the support offered to those with the condition.
This year, as it’s our first year, we will be distributing raspberry goodies, leaflets, and some of our merchandise throughout London and West Sussex where Simona grew up. If you’d like to become part of the #RaspberrySquad get in touch (hello@cavernomasociety.org.uk) and we’ll let you know how! We have some fab Raspberry goodies and information leaflets that we can give to businesses and members who would like to get involved and help us to ‘spread the Berry love’.
You can also show your support by using our free Facebook Frame (above) and using the hashtag #IHaveRaspberriesOnMyMind.
