Rising Star Month
Are you aware of someone who is incredibly talented? Numerous local organizations offer Rising Star competitions that recognize the talent of their community. We’ve all heard of a Rising Star at some point in our lives. What is the origin of the term Rising Star? Let’s look back at the history of Rising Star Month!
What is a Rising Star? A Rising Star is someone with great potential, who can outperform their peers in many aspects. A Rising person has six important attributes. These six attributes can be described as follows:
It may seem impossible to find top talent within an organization. Given the uniqueness of rising stars, it is unlikely that this is possible. They are unique and stand out from the rest. It is possible to increase the number of rising stars at all levels within our organization.
Rising stars do not have to be leaders. In fact, there are many rising stars who may not go on to become leaders. Rising stars is not synonymous to “leaders”; it is synonymous with “high-performance.” You want the best employees possible, no matter if they are a cashier, food server or custodian.
You can increase the quality and performance of each individual, which will increase the culture and environment for high performance throughout the organization. High performance cultures simply outperform. Period.
To celebrate, we only need to be our best every day. The world will be a better place if everyone is the best they can be at everything, from work to personal life.
