School Bus Drivers Day
Education is an essential part of every child’s life. The foundation of their lives will be shaped by the skills they have acquired at school in those 13 or 12 years. This includes everything from math and languages to social skills to important life lessons. We spend a lot time talking about the importance of teachers and how thankful we are for their valuable knowledge and experience. It is rightly so.
Have you ever stopped to consider the many people who tirelessly work every day to ensure your child gets to school safely and is able to drop them off at home? People who have to endure the shrieks, laughter, and general noise of hundreds of children in a small space for hours every day. No? You should. We present: School Bus Drivers Day, ladies and gentlemen!
Although school buses were first invented in the early 20th century, horse-drawn carriages, whose primary purpose was to transport children from rural areas, were popular for decades. In 1927, Ford dealership owner A.L. A.L. Ford’s dealership was founded in 1927. Luce designed a bus body to fit a 1927 Ford Model T. Today’s school buses are much larger and more modern than his original design.
In 1939, the standard color of “school bus yellow” in North America was adopted. School buses currently provide approximately 10 billion student trips each year. In 2013, almost 468,000 school buses carried 28.8 million students to and from school each school day. The school bus has played a significant role in the education and well-being of children from poorer backgrounds from rural areas around the globe.

School bus drivers are often not celebrated as well as many civil servants. Sometimes, a tragedy is required to make people think about their work. Make a difference this School Bus Drivers Day!
It’s the thought that matters. Grand gestures are not what this holiday is about. We’re sure that most school bus drivers would be happy to drive a Ferrari to help your child’s education. However, a few homemade cookies can do the same. Although a few words of appreciation to the school bus driver may seem insignificant to you, they could be the most appreciated thing the driver has heard all day. Let’s not forget about teaching our children how to appreciate those who do the smallest things for us. A child who learns to say thanks is bound to become an infinitely better adult.
