Space Exploration Day
Space Exploration Day was established in 1970 to mark the first time man walked on the moon. It’s about much more than the moon landings. It’s intended to honor the achievements of the past, and to inspire enthusiasm for future space exploration.
Space Exploration Day’s website has details on how to participate, including information from J. David Baxter, who came up with the idea. You can organize a nature walk in the spirit and exploration of space, launch model rockets, host a science party, or take part in a stargazing party. There are many other ways to have fun and celebrate the universe yet to be explored.
