Straw Hat Month

Straw Hat Month

Straw hats have always been pastoral in their appearance. From the conical straw hats that are common in rice fields to wide-brimmed straw straw hats worn in the Americas by ‘hayseed farmers,’ straw hats speak agriculture.

Many people don’t know how far back the history goes of the straw hat. Although some things might only get one day of celebration, the straw hat is so important that an entire month is dedicated to it!

Straw hats are a common cultural invention. They can be made from any kind of grass or straw. The most popular are wheat straw hats. They can be found most often in the Italian Peninsula. Rush straws and palm leaves are also common. Us either!) Also, bamboo and rice straw are used in Asian Conical Hats. Although it may seem too early to wear a straw cap, considering that most people associate them only with summer wear, they can actually be worn throughout the year, particularly in milder climates.

Straw hats are a versatile piece of clothing that can be worn in any weather. Are you feeling hot or sunny? The woven straw hat lets heat escape and protects your head from the mid-day sun’s pounding rays. It is raining? Properly woven straw hats will allow the rain to roll off your head, away from your clothes and face, and help you stay dry. While they may not be ideal for dealing with snow and other cold weather, a straw hat can trap heat and keep the cold out.

Modern straw hats can be made from plastic strips, laminated grasses or woven papers, but we believe that traditional straw hats should be worn for Straw Hat Month. Sometimes, the best way is the oldest.

It all begins with the attire you choose. Straw Hat Month offers a wonderful opportunity to show off your straw hat collection, and to share it with the rest of the world. What’s that? Are you a straw-hat collector? This is an excellent excuse to begin building one.

There are many options to choose from, including the Panama hat and the Conical Straw Hat. Straw Hat Month will have a straw hat to suit your style.
