November 24 is Win Friends and Influence People Day. This unofficial holiday is celebrated by the fans of the well known and influential book, ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie. This awareness day is also sometimes known as Friends Day.
The birth date of Dale Carnegie was chosen as the day for this celebration. Although Carnegie was born in 1888, his books are still popular and relevant even today. Carnegie didn’t write only several books, that help people around the world making friends, but he also was the author of may other publications advising, educating and inspiring people in topics such as psychological training in public speaking, interpersonal skills, salesmanship and self-improvement.
How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of the most famous books by Dale Carnegie. It was published in 1936 and immediately became a bestseller selling 15 million copies world-wide. The second, revised edition, was published posthumously in 1981. This release contained updated language and anecdotes, that were omitted in the first edition. At the same time the number of sections was reduced from 6 to 4, eliminating chapters on writing successful business letters and improving marital satisfaction.
