World Animal Day

Although he may be in shock to learn that he wasn’t the first to communicate with animals, Doctor Doolittle would be an advocate for World Animal Day, which is celebrated on October 4th, the Feast Saint Francis of Assisii. This annual celebration of all things furry was established in 1931 in Italy. It is now a very popular day that reminds us of the importance of animals in our lives and the people who dedicate their lives to caring for them. You are invited to get into the Halloween spirit by removing fur fabric, refusing to purchase products that have been tested on animals, and – most importantly for the majority of people – becoming vegetarian. Is St Francis a meat-eater? Answers on a postcard…
