World Lindy Hop Day
You will soon be a fan of Lindy Hop Day if you feel there aren’t enough reasons for you to dance on a floor to the raucous sounds of 1920s Jazz. This form of swing music has been gaining popularity since the 1950s.
This energetic dance originated in Harlem, New York City. For a truly memorable experience, you should look for a venue that features live big-band jazz. You will be exhausted from the experience. It is frenetic and sometimes frantic. The name is believed to be a tribute to Charles Lindbergh’s historic 1927 “hop” across the Atlantic in an airplane – the first time such feat was achieved alone. But let’s not forget that he didn’t do this dance while he was piloting the plane!
