World Nutella Day

Happiness is the warm, delicious taste of hazelnut spread on warm flaky pastry. Nutella is the brand name for this hazelnut spread. This delicious, chocolaty spread can be used on toast, or baked into the middle of pastries and other baked goods.

Although this might not be true for everyone, many people enjoy it with just a spoon or a finger. Others have found other creative ways to enjoy it such as potato chips or pretzel sticks. Everyone who loves Nutella seems to have a favorite way to enjoy it.

World Nutella Day, which is the perfect day for sharing all those amazing ideas with the rest of the world, is also available!

The Fererro family released Nutella to the world in the mid-1960s under their current name. However, its roots go back to the 1800s. Gianduja was the name of a sweet chocolate hazelnut confection created in Turin, Italy, during Napoleon’s reign. The chocolate was created because of a lack of cocoa supplies. A chocolatier added hazelnuts in order to make the chocolate stretch further.

Pietro, the father to the Ferrero family was Pietro. He owned a bakery in Alba (Italy), which was well-known for its hazelnut production. Pietro first sold the treat in large blocks, called pasta Gianduja. Then he had the idea of selling a cream version of the treat known as Supercrema Gianduja.

Pietro’s daughter Michelle decided to increase production and changed the recipe. The concoction was renamed Nutella. It was first sold in 1964, and has been a popular treat all over Europe. It was imported into America by the Fererro family in the mid-1980s. Now it is a common staple all around the globe.

In 2007, World Nutella Day began to be celebrated for the first time. Sara Rosso, an American blogger living in Italy at that time, came up with the idea for World Nutella Day. Why did she decide to create World Nutella Day It was her love for Nutella, of course! Nutella fans celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm and shared the joy on social media.

2015 saw Sara Rosso’s transfer to Ferrero, the company that makes Nutella. This transfer enabled the day to grow and was a guarantee of its continued existence. They have done some very creative things to help World Nutella Day. To keep up to date on all the holiday plans, visit nutelladay.com. You can even sign up to be the Chief Nutella Ambassador.
