World Refrigeration Day
World Refrigeration Day is a way to raise awareness and understand the important role the industry and its technology plays in modern life.
Here, the term “refrigeration” is used in its broadest sense to mean the process of maintaining a temperature lower than its surroundings. Refrigeration is used to preserve and distribute perishable foods. Air-conditioning is another common use of refrigeration systems. Heat-pumps, which take heat from one place and transfer it to another, are similar.
World Refrigeration Day was established through an agreement between industry trade associations and professional membership organizations from all over the globe.
The UN Environment’s OzonAction Programme announced in 2019 that they would partner with World Refrigeration Day to raise awareness about the importance of refrigeration.
Stephen Gill, who was a former President of the Institute of Refrigeration, founded World Refrigeration Day.
