World Sight Day, an annual awareness day that is held annually around the globe to highlight blindness and vision impairment, is celebrated every year. The World Health Organization and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness created this day. Awareness is spread through many events.

Many organizations have been involved in World Sight Day since its inception. People can choose to support the cause by planting trees or by sending in a photograph to be used in an international photo montage that focuses on blindness.

There are also special fundraising walks that help pay for operations costs, book readings for blind people and many posters and booklets that are made to spread awareness about the issue.
